A very comfortable three-meter sofa with matching footstool is complemented by a pair of Rietveld’s iconic Utrecht armchairs in red. Three differently sized coffee tables fixed over a solid steel base and tops that are distressed by hand creating an exquisite and unique lunar patina. The room is equipped with an adjustable large screen (55”) television with Sonos soundbar.
A commissioned artwork hangs above the sofa. This imposing triptych was created by a UK artist who is heavily influenced by architectural drawing conventions, using gridlines, hatching and scalebars to create unique and interesting compositions. The map depicts the Côte d’Azur and is hand-finished using 24ct gold leaf. It is complemented by a vividly colourful artwork from a NYC artist.
A pair of black floor lamps with fluid design lines illuminate the sitting area elegantly. The side table resembles a giant wine bottle cork, or according to others, a mushroom or even a chess piece. It is characterised by its smooth, circular lines and its shiny coating in anthracite grey ceramic. A small, sleek freestanding bookcase, whose key design element is the frame, supported by geometric legs. Leaned to the frame, like bookmarks, are a number of wooden slats, which the books themselves are then hung on, transforming the bookcase from a vertical to a horizontal piece.
